Technical Marketing Writer

To perform this job well, you must understand marketing best practices and be able to apply them to create compelling web copy, email marketing, and traditional marketing collateral. You must have a talent for effective expression so that your copy grabs customers’ attention.

In addition to being creative, you must be detail-oriented and have strong grammar skills. You must have an aptitude for understanding technical information and for logical organization, so that you can explain technology in a clear, compelling way. Strong grammar skills are essential, but you also need to be sensitive to voice and tone. In particular, you must be able to write in a conversational—yet professional—style. You must be a fast, independent worker, someone who can produce publication-quality first drafts and manage a heavy workload with minimal supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Four year degree(s) in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
• Previous marketing experience preferred, particularly in email marketing
• Very strong writing and editing abilities
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, and a commercial quality HTML editor
• Strong Internet research skills
• Willingness to be edited (without taking it personally)
• Interest in project management (preferred)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• A journeyman's understanding of computer networking and at least one other technical subject

Applicants must be able to work 40 hours a week and occasional overtime if needed. You must be able to work in Provo, Utah.
