Responsibilities and Duties:

This position is for a senior level, highly experienced software quality assurance engineer. This person must have the skills and knowledge necessary to develop and maintain a complete software quality assurance program, including the processes and procedures necessary to support testing of applications developed in both the Java and .NET development environments. However, in the initial stages of SQA program development this person will be required to write code, create test cases and test beds, and execute day-to-day testing. We prefer a person with both Java and .NET quality assurance experience.

The candidate will be expected to:

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct quality reviews based on customer expectations
• Compile and analyze quality statistics to determine quality trends, and document findings for management
• Identify quality problems and recommend solutions
• Assist other managers in preparing a quality action plan following each quality review
• Develop test methods and tools to validate product requirements
• Manage test cases, including test script creation, conditioning, and traceability to requirements
• Perform functional and regression testing and conduct test case execution, including performance and load testing of systems and software
• Maintain a library of test conditions, cases, scripts, and results for reference and verification of the quality assurance process
• Develop a test automation suite to support rapid quality assurance testing

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum BS degree(s) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related scientific field
• Eight or more years of commercial software quality assurance experience
• The skills and knowledge necessary to manage a complex software quality assurance program
• Significant experience with Microsoft Windows OSes
• Experience using Microsoft Office SharePoint (MOSS)
• Superior analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to interact effectively with management, peers, and subordinates
• Honesty and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree(s) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related scientific field
• Ten or more years of commercial software quality assurance experience, with both Java and .NET quality assurance experience

This position is a full time position. You must be able to work normal business hours, at either the Niche offices or a client site. You must be willing to occasionally work a flexible schedule; there will be instances when you are required to adjust your schedule in order to meet a deadline. This position might include some weekend work entailing on-site administration and maintenance of the quality assurance environment.

We will consider applicants with a range of experience. Compensation will be based on the candidate's skills and experience.
